Silence fell upon the meeting hall of the European nations on that late October day in 2008. A deep, uncomfortable silence at that.

like you always do' Romania snickered, sitting beside Hungary, who now stood flushed beet red and glaring at the head of the meeting an old man from the European Parliament.
'Sit down, Ungarn' Austria whispered sternly as he glanced to his right, where Germany stood pale and utterly shocked. Ludwig could not imagine what had gotten into Hungary all of a sudden.
'So' the head of the meeting said slowly 'You do not want to take part in the European Cultural Capital Project, Hungary? Is that what you are saying?'
'N-no!' Eliza stammered and, if possible, blushed even more 'T-that has been my dream for some time now, Sir, and it's the greatest honor that Pécs can fulfill that duty along with Mr. Germany's city, Essen, believe me!'
